Little Meets Big
Have you ever heard someone or perhaps even yourself say, “It’s just a small thing. It won’t make any difference.”
Is that really true?
Some might say, it depends.
But then consider this:
1. A tiny bit of spoiled food mixed into a dish shouldn’t affect the overall taste…… yet none of us would willingly eat it.
2. Leaving just a few emails unread for later seems harmless... until the inbox spirals out of control.
3. Scrolling social media for “just a few more minutes” before bed…...and we all know how that usually ends.
Think of pilots or ship captains. Before setting off, they know the destination and the bearing. A slight deviation at the start even by a few degrees can lead them, and everyone on board, far off course. While automated systems help calculate routes, manual checks are still essential.
Even been driving and heard your GPS say, “Recalculating?”
In the same way, automation and convenience can be helpful, but they aren’t always reliable.
Systems change. Conditions shift.
Regular check-ins are necessary to ensure we’re still heading in the right direction and making the adjustments needed to achieve our milestones and goals.
So the next time something feels small or insignificant, pause and think again...as a little makes a big difference.
