The Classic Roundabout

At the roundabout, take the second exit.
Simple advice. Harder in real life.

Many of us will remember a familiar Mr Bean scene.

He was running late, attempting to do everything at once, changing clothes, brushing his teeth, all while driving. When he reached the roundabout, he simply kept going until he was almost ready, made an exit and arrived at his destination.

It is comical, of course.

And no, the lesson is not about reckless driving.

The reflection is this...

At times, we find ourselves uncertain of what comes next.

We hesitate.
We overthink.

We circle the same thoughts again and again.

Like a roundabout, these moments can feel repetitive. But we cannot stay there forever. To move forward, we eventually need to choose an exit.

It is alright to pause.
It is alright to feel unsure.

Sometimes progress begins with a decision, even if it is not the perfect one.

And if that exit does not lead where we hoped, we can return, reassess, and choose another.

What matters is not getting it right the first time, but being willing to move.
