Take a Break…and a Brake

Take a break…
Time to brake…
I’m realising how easily I forget this and how quickly I default to keep going without pausing to check in with myself. Yet choosing to rest, or to stop and recalibrate, isn’t failure or weakness. It’s not a sin to slow down.
Many of us were shaped by a culture that values constant motion: keep moving, keep pushing, keep up or risk being left behind. And yes, there’s truth in that. Progress does require effort.
But I’m learning that rest is what restores the strength to continue, and reflection is what gives direction to the journey. Without rest, we run on empty. Without pausing to think, we may keep moving but blindly, driven by momentum rather than intention.
Sometimes, the wisest step forward begins with a pause.
