This is Me
“THIS IS ME”
Three simple words, yet where we place the emphasis can completely change what we are really saying.
When the emphasis is on this, the statement becomes one of clarity.
THIS is me is often spoken
when we feel misunderstood or misrepresented. It draws a line between what is true and what is assumed. It says, see me as I am, not as you think I should be.
When the emphasis shifts to is, the statement turns inward, toward acceptance.
This IS e acknowledges reality as it stands, imperfections, growth, and contradictions. It is less about comparison and more about ownership. It says, this is real, and I am learning to face it honestly. It is not easy, but it is necessary.
And when the emphasis falls on me, the statement becomes deeply personal.
This is ME is a declaration of identity. It is often voiced after being overlooked or unheard. It affirms presence and worth. I matter. I exist. I have a place. There is confidence, and often courage, in being seen without apology, within reasonable and responsible boundaries.
The same sentence can hold different truths:
One brings clarity.
One invites acceptance.
One claims identity.
Together, they remind us that identity is not only about who we are, but how we recognise ourselves, accept reality, and stay true to who we are becoming.
So when you say, “this is me”, which truth are you expressing? Is it self justification, self acceptance, self reflection, or perhaps a moment of change in progress?
